An amazing stay!!! Beautiful setting. Well furnished in time-period decor. Most comfortable bed we ever slept in. Kate, the owner, quickly responded to our inquiry. The hostess welcomed us warmly. We have stayed at many B&B’s through the years. McTernan Manor is the best one ever.

Beautiful historic antebellum house , has been modernized and updated by its current caretaker and custodian of the family legacy. Romantic rooms, lovely grounds to take a leisurely stroll through, close to town but away from the hustle amd bustle noise. Worth the adventure...

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing stay! We stumbled upon this beautiful place after getting a freeze warning at our campsite and deciding to try and find a comfortable place to sleep instead of the cold we hadnt planned for. They we're so ammodating for us being a last minute booking and super welcoming. We brought our dog with us who got to mingle with the other guests and owners pups on the property. It felt like home away from home. They love to entertain and are such great people to get to know! I know we'll be making this little weekend getaway a yearly trip.

My husband and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary here, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Amy and Kate were so kind, welcoming, and truly made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and every detail of our stay was thoughtful and cozy. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend this wonderful place!

This is a really beautiful old house updated for comfort without losing any charm! Our room was cozy and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and we felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time, both in the privacy of our room and in the common areas. My husband loved the hammock on the porch, and we had a wonderful breakfast of French toast and eggs with strong coffee the last morning. There are great places to eat and things to do right in Franklin, and you are less than an hour away from Highlands, Dillard, and numerous places to hike. My husband said he never wants to stay in a hotel again after our great experience at McTernan Manor!

When we arrived, we were greeted with a lovely welcome and was shown the home and the kitchen and the living room. We had fresh flowers in our room, which I was overwhelmed by. Amy was so sweet. The house is immaculate and so well kept we felt at home. The beds were amazing and so comfortable. There were feather pillows, and a down comforter, which was so warm and comforting in the winter. We stayed in the suite which had a living room downstairs and our separate entryway. It was simply amazing in the evening It is so quiet. I can’t say enough about this BNB we definitely will be staying here again and again. The pictures don’t do it justice as it’s a most beautiful home.

My husband and I came for a weekend getaway and McTernan Manor was excellent!!! We stayed in the Sexton Suite. The bed was so comfortable, the double shower was a luxurious treat, and soaking in the claw foot tub was very nice. The ladies that care for the manor are lovely, personable, and caring. Amy makes delicious breakfasts and sweet treats!! We also loved the cats that live on the property and the dogs. McTernan Manor truly felt like stepping back in time and also, staying with family. Thank you ladies!!!!

We had such a special stay at McTernan Manor. We were in town for my father’s memorial, and the owners went above and beyond to make a difficult time feel meaningful and supported. They graciously allowed us to host a small family dinner and campfire on the property, which ended up being one of the most memorable and healing parts of the weekend! We stayed in the Sexton Suite King, which was absolutely beautiful. The private exterior entrance and spacious living room downstairs made it feel like our own little retreat, and the upstairs bedroom and bathroom were just as lovely. The large shower was a standout and everything felt comfortable, clean, thoughtful, and full of charm. The manor itself is warm, welcoming, and full of character. You feel it the moment you arrive. We’re so grateful for the kindness and care we experienced here. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Our stay in the Sexton Suite at the McTernan Manor was a lovely mountain getaway. An 1800s house full of sumptous suites, modern kitchen, walk around porch with swing, rocking chairs and cafe tables as well as cozy fire pits. All maintained and hosted by the lovely Sandra and Amy! Hope to be able to visit again! Already missing the king size bed, two person shower and claw foot tub.
